FAQ'sFrequently asked questions

Skincare is such a personal thing, that is why we are so passionate around our clients getting it right! Read the most frequently asked questions below.

For the best results, we recommend starting your skin treatments and skincare routine about 12 months before your wedding, especially if you’re dealing with concerns like acne, sun damage, or rosacea. Since your skin is an organ, these issues often take time to address, and have often manifested over months or years, so starting early gives us the best chance to correct them.

If your skin is already in great condition and you just want that extra bridal glow, 6 months should be plenty of time to get you ready for your big day.

As a minimum, we recommend starting your routine at least 3 months out. Starting any new products or treatments closer than that could increase the risk of a reaction, which we want to avoid right before your wedding.

For aesthetic injectable treatments, it’s best to meet with your medical professional at least one year before your wedding. This allows you to create a treatment plan that includes the necessary recovery time between sessions.

In contrast, over-the-counter products often have to limit the concentration of active ingredients to ensure they are safe for broad use, which can reduce their efficacy. Medical-grade products are typically prescribed or recommended by skincare professionals, allowing for a more customised and potent approach based on your unique skin concerns. This combination of clinical research, proven formulations, and personalised recommendations means you’re more likely to see visible, long-lasting results.

Yes, it’s definitely possible to overuse skincare products! Applying too many can actually lead to irritation and reactions. A well-thought-out, minimal routine is often far more effective than trying everything at once. In fact, my bespoke skincare plans typically include around 5 products, with 4 steps in the morning and 3 to 5 in the evening—though 2 or 3 of those steps may overlap between morning and night.

For those looking for a more comprehensive routine, we can always add extras like face masks or eye treatments. However, for most of my patients, 5 products are usually all that’s needed to achieve great results.

There are definitely hero products that can make a big impact when added to your skincare routine, but the right ones will vary for each person. It all depends on your skin type, condition, and your specific skincare goals. That’s why skin consultations are so important—they help tailor the perfect routine just for you - get in touch today!

It’s completely normal to experience a few more spots after introducing new products into your routine. This can happen as your skin adjusts, especially if the products are helping to clear out congestion or speed up your skin cell turnover. This process is called purging and is temporary, but if the spots persist or worsen, it might be worth checking in to see if the products are the right fit for your skin type.
